FAQS
How do I know which services are best for me?
This depends on how clear you are about your career direction. If you are interested in exploring career, educational or entrepreneurial options based on your interests and personality, you may want to begin with one of the Assessment Packages. Each of these packages combines individual counseling with assessment to provide an excellent foundation for further exploration and career decision-making. If you are content with your career focus, but are frustrated, desire a change or would like assistance with the practical aspects of a job search, you may want to begin with Career Counseling/Coaching or one of the Career Marketing Packages.
How are appointments structured and assessments administered?
All appointments included in the Assessment Packages are one hour. The first appointment serves to clarify some of your interests, strengths, values and personal goals. At this time, you will be introduced to the dynamic career exploration process of Introspection, Exploration and Action. Assessments in packages #2, #3, and #4 are offered on line in the comfort of your home. You will be given your log on ID at the conclusion of your first appointment and your results will be presented in an interpretive report at our subsequent appointment. Assessment Package #1 is a paper and pencil instrument and will be given to you at the conclusion of our first appointment to take home for completion.
Career Counseling/Coaching sessions average 1-2 hrs. in length depending on your needs and professional goals. Some follow-up appointments may require even less time. Time commitment can be estimated based on your objectives at the time of scheduling.
Should parents be present during a student’s appointment?
Parents of minors are always welcome to stay, however, career counseling is most effective on a one to one basis. Students will be given their interpretive reports, useful handouts and the Action Plan they create for further exploration. A progress summary will also be provided to parents of minors.
